Do you want to connect redirect.pizza with other platforms and applications? We've got you covered. Manage domains, redirects and email forwards through a RESTful JSON API, or from chat with MCP clients like Claude and Cursor.
Alternatively, you can use our software development kit (SDK) to connect to our redirect service. We also offer an official Terraform Provider to manage your redirects via IaaC. By using the redirectpizza_redirect resource, you can control your redirects programmatically.
Check out our API support guide, MCP support guide and API documentation for further details.
What is an API exactly?
API, which stands for Application Programming Interface, enables software applications to communicate and interact with each other. It outlines how different systems or components should work together with regard to information exchange, service requests, and particular functions. Essentially APIs act as intermediaries, providing developers with a standardized approach to accessing the functionality of a software or service without having to gain full access to it. This eventually helps in achieving smooth integration between various applications and systems.
How is this useful for you? Regarding redirects, our API will allow you to create, update, list, and delete your redirects through your existing solutions and infrastructure. For bulk operations without code, you can also import redirects via CSV. Also, redirect.pizza email includes a forwarding API with the ability to monitor your team's quotas, so you can graph it for instance in Grafana or your redirect analytics dashboard.
Manage redirects from chat with MCP
MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets AI tools talk to your redirect.pizza team the same way a custom integration would. Instead of wiring HTTP calls yourself, you connect an MCP client and ask it in plain language to create a redirect, check DNS, or pull analytics.
Connect Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Codex, Claude Desktop and other MCP clients. It's the same team, the same API token and the same scopes as the REST API, so access control stays consistent whether you automate in code or in chat.
What you can do with MCP
Once connected, you can ask your client to:
- Create, update, pause and import redirects
- Manage domains and DNS, including automatic DNS
- Set up email forwards
- Check analytics
- Invite teammates
- Test a URL or generate a QR code
Hostnames are created for you from your redirect sources. Point the DNS at redirect.pizza and the redirect goes live with automatic HTTPS.
Getting started with MCP
Open the API/MCP page in your account, create an API token with the mcp:use scope, and copy the sample configuration for your client. Replace the highlighted placeholder with your token. Grant only the other scopes the client needs, and revoke the token anytime from that page.
Using Claude Desktop? Use the mcp-remote sample on the API/MCP page, then fully restart Claude Desktop. More detail is in the MCP support article.
Connect to other applications with Zapier
With Zapier, you can link redirect.pizza to over 2,000 other online services. You can set up automated connections - called Zaps - in just a few minutes without any coding. This allows you to automate your daily tasks and free up your IT team by creating workflows between applications that would not be possible otherwise.
In addition, redirect.pizza has a user-friendly Zapier Action that allows users to generate redirects easily. You can now easily create a redirect when you add it to a Google Sheet or when you put a new website live with the help of Zapier and redirect.pizza. Want to know more?
